PANTONE COLOR OF THE YEAR 2021 : ILLUMINATING

As you've probably heard, Pantone announced their color, or should I say colors of the year in December; Illuminating and Ultimate Grey are the new trendsetters in town. And we know what you're thinking, how the hell do I integrate a color as bold as yellow or as...dull (read: subdued) as Grey??

That's where we come in! Let's start with yellow! As beautiful as yellow is because of it's bright and colorful nature, it can go real overboard, real quick; that's why it's best to keep it small. Our personal favorite way to use yellow is in the details of your wedding day (think napkins, favors, pops of color in your bouquet). One of our fave couples beat Pantone to the punch declaring Illuminating their color of the year way back in 2019. Take a look a look at how they used yellow on their sweet, sunshiney day!

LOOKING BACK AT 2020

LOOKING BACK AT 2020

2020 has been...quite the year. Each one of us has had our own unique challenges, but we can all agree we’ve been put through the wringer. Together we’ve had to adapt to a new and unfamiliar world, and celebrating with you has been such a fantastic outlet.

As we look back on all of our STUNNING 2020 couples, were feelings ALL the feels. More than anything, though, we’re feeling thankful to everyone Celebrate Dallas has had the pleasure of serving this year. Being able to distract ourselves with so many sweet and joyful faces gave us all the love and light we’d been missing. Being apart of your special day, no matter how big or how small, has been such a privilege.

We love you and can’t wait to see all that 2021 has in store for us (fingers crossed it’s nothing but puppies, rainbows, and good health for all).

We used pops of cranberry red, blush, and grey in bouquets and centerpieces to capture that winter aesthetic without going into the traditional Christmas look. Her bouquet is one of my all time faves! So much texture! And the pops of red against the white barn and gray bridesmaid dresses really created the perfect winter wedding!

INSPIRED BY | OUR FAVORITE FIRST LOOK MOMENTS

Last week we talked about first looks, but now we want to brag a little on our absolutely GORGEOUS couple’s first look moments as well our photographer friends’ amazing work. Just in case you missed the other post, a first look is:

...a newer wedding practice (think the last five years). It’s all about documenting the couple’s first wedding moments before the craziness of their wedding day set in. Typically, the groom is positioned with his back away from the bride while she walks toward him. She’ll tap him on the shoulder or undo his blindfold, and he’ll turn to see her. That’s when the happy tears begin (ours and the couples). They get to see each other for the first time and have an intimate moment to talk and focus on each other.

Now that we’re all on the same page. Let’s dig in!

TIPS | FIRST LOOK

Questions about First Looks is one of the most frequent questions we get from new couples. Should we do a first look? Or would it ruin the magic? The answer is ultimately up to you. There are pluses and minuses on both sides and alternatives to consider if you're on the fence. Let's jump into First Looks!

What is a First Look?

Pros + Cons

Pros

Pictures before the ceremony will mean more time eating and schmoozing during your cocktail and reception time.

A quiet moment pre-wedding to be together.

Capturing a beautiful and intimate moment between just the couple.

Cons

You may miss the sweet walking down the aisle shock and awe.

Chancing bad luck.

A first look may make your timeline wonky (you getting up earlier = no fun).
